I was trying to change my fuel filter, when I striped the little bolt that holds the filter to the steal fuel line. I was using a line wrench! What the @#%$!!!!
has this happened to anyone???
Any Ideas on how to fix it? I have to remove the stripped bolt and get the bolt off the line and replace it.
I though About cutting the line and putting a small rubber hose inbetween the two cut pices, but I don't know what to do about the nut.
I tried big vice grips they finished it off. I is completly round and smooth. I might still cut it out and use a vice, or I could just order another line. I was going to replace the filter.
Um...it's on the fuel filter so it would have fuel line on both sides of it. Pretty sure you wouldn't be able to get a closed end nut breaker on there...

Goog guss! I wet to the dealer today ordered it, it was only $28. Not to bad for the whole line from filter to tank. I should hav it next week. I'm pretty sure the filter needs to be replaced anyway.
Holy crap that's going to be a huge PITA to change.
PITA??? whats that?
I was going to do it at a friends shop. I looked at the diagram it goes from the fuel filter to just befor the tank. There looks like anothe shorter line that meets it just befor the tank. I think toyota knew this would happen.
how many miles do u have on your car? when i wanted to replace my fuel filter on my 93, i tried it myself but i had stripped the bolt too. i went to the dealership and the manager told me that he would love to take my money but it would not be smart to replace it because of my mileage(100K). he said that most likely the line would break on me and i would have to get a whole new line.

just make sure you soak that connection point down with pb blaster for a couple of days first
unfortunately, on things such as fuel lines, going to a shop does really help too much except that they have a lift. Usually shops are useful since they have a torch, but it's not a good idea to put a torch to a fuel line

I'm at 109k, and the dealer told me it never needed to be replaced. They also said plugs last 100k. i'm pretty sure they over estimate. the line was like 30 bucks not bad. I have access to a lift so it shoudn't be to bad.
