Shifting Steering Wheel

My 01' solara's steering wheel is stuck(or locked?) in one position. It's been working fine until now. I had no problem shifting it up & down. Anyone have this problem or a resolution??????

In certain situations the steering wheel can turn back toward the center position after you've turned off the ignition causing quite a bit of friction against the lock.

Try pulling the wheel a little bit toward the way its turned while turning the key.

As Gadgetjg states try wigging the steering wheel a little to release the pressure on the ignition key steering lock.
