02 Sensor

I have a 2001 Toyota Solara and about a week ago the check engine light came on, I took it to the shop and was told I need an oxygen senor for Bank 1 Sensor 1. I have been trying to purchase this part online to save money from what the shop was charging for this part. They problem is when I do a search I come back with so many and don't know which one to purchase the confusion is most say universal some with 1 wire, 3 wire or 4 wires and not just front right which is the location of the oxygen senso. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

ok here is the deal i just changed mine in a 99 solara 3.0 v6 90.000miles
bank 1 which is located on the right side of the engine . this is by the fire wall on the exhaust manifold you can change it yourself this is a 4 Wire o2 sensor the reason it has so many wires is because it has a preheater installed in the o2 sensor this way when the engine is cold the computer doesn't recieve a false signal and read cold start fuel mixture. i bought a denso factory o2 senso from autozone for 140.00 dealer wanted 180.
00 these are not cheep and your car has a total of 3 thank you toyota. do not buy a universal you will have to change the damn end and where you will be connecting it there isn't very much room to work . all the room you have is all 1 handed work !!! well that is my 2cents on this. good luck

I had a bank 2 sensor code this summer shortly after i purchased my car- i didnt mess around and just got one from the dealer for $170. It was expensive, but I threw it on and never had the problem again- even with an aftermarket catback.

Many will argue this, but Im a firm believer in just going with OEM O2 sensors...
