Sticky Pedal and Dead Fog Lights (and Hello!)

Hello to all!

I just got an 01 auto 4cyl coupe, I've previously owned an '89 240sx and a '92 Civic DX.

My family snagged this Solara for me because they wanted me to have a better car after I moved from TX to KS. Before I even laid eyes on it, I searched for a Solara forum and bookmarked this one

Got home last week and got to drive it for the first time, and there are a couple of small things to fix already. The gas pedal is sticky - sometimes, but not every time, there's extra resistance when it's depressed the first fraction of an inch. It gets to a certain point and doesn't want to go farther. It requires extra force to overcome, but doesn't stick again when released. Has anyone run into that before, and how hard is it to get rid of?

Also, the fog lights seem to have gone dead within the last few weeks. My dad is sure they were working when he was driving the car (he used it for a while before I got here), but I turned them on for a check when I moved it in the driveway tonight and they did nothing. Tried them with the headlights on, off, and running lights on, and they didn't work no matter what I did. I don't have a manual for this car yet, so can someone point out things I should check (fuses etc) and how to get to them? I used to have cheap aftermarket fogs on my 240sx, and the bulbs got broken when I scraped on steep parking lot entrances, but that should be less of a problem with stock lights, shouldn't it?

I dont know about the pedal, but try testing the bulbs in the fogs. They will only work with the headlights on, so be sure to keep that in mind. I have had bulbs go out in pairs on me, so thats always a possibility... welcome to the forum!

for the pedal, take your throttlebody off and scrub the inside of it clean...it's usually carbon buildup in the TB that's making the TB plate stick- I actually had hte exact same annoyance when I first picked up my solara

Thanks.

Actually the fogs are working.. I was just too close to the wall to notice them when I was testing, and when I had the headlights on was the only try when I didn't get out and walk in front to look
