2000 solara SLE NEED HELP!!!

Hello, Ive replaced the altenator because each time tried jumping my car it seemed as if the battery was not recharging. Then after that the car still wouldnt run i then replaced the battery. The car started and seemed to run normal except now i have no power options inside the car except the interior lights. the blinkers dont work the stereo the gauges, power seats etc. the second time i started it the idle seemed way too low it was way quiter than normal and still no power to guages or anything else. I NEED HELP, what could it be? oh and my headlights do work.

is it a brand new alternator or a used one? I had a similar scenario with my gen 3 camry and it ended up being a short in the reverse light harness.

refurbished i believe. So your short cause almost a complete power group disfuncition. I acutally cant even get it into gear as well i had to take off the little clip on the shifter base and push in the button to put it into to gear to drive.

the short was causing the gauges to not work, turn signals, windows, heat and ac, and the shifting was messed up... all from one fuse blowing in the reverse harness every time I put the car in reverse. You may want to have the alternator checked, I had one for 2 months that went bad on me and had similar issues... couldnt believe it.

Have you checked all of the fuses and fusible links? There are most likely at least 4 fuse boxes on the car. Have you checked the battery cables and the cable from the alternator to battery?

Use a voltmeter to check battery voltage with engine running at around 1500RPM, should be 14.1-15V if alternator is working.

Check the wires in the trunk where the harness jumps from the chassis to the trunk lid, this is a common location for wire damage.
