Lowering Springs Damaging Shocks?

Hi! I'm a new member here, just got a 2004 solara se!

I have a question, when you put in the TRD lowering springs, over time would that damage your stock shocks? Would it be wise to buy a new set of shocks or something to pair with the TRD lowering springs?
The reason is..I don't want any surprises down the road ..
If anyone has had it installed at a dealer and could tell me how much was charged, that'd be great!

Also, about rear sway bars how much of a difference do they make in the handling of the car? I came from an accord and lexus and the ride of the solara is comparable to the lexus, but the problem is i'd prefer a stiffer ride.
Thanks!

It is not wise to run lowering springs on stock struts because then the strut is compressed more of the time- thus causing it to wear out faster. If you want to go with lowering springs, go with some high quality struts as well like KYB or Tokico. Those will be designed to hold up with lowering springs and you wont have issues down the road.

The rear swaybar makes a big difference in body roll on the gen 1 solara... I would imagine it to make a difference on the gen 2 as well. The car will corner flatter, understeer less, and feel more responsive.

The SE model has stiffer strut...it is your best bet ! I've myself a 2006 Toyota Solara V6 sport and I have no problem with my suspension (2 years running on bad Quebec roads)

Since you're from CA I would buy some Tein SS C/O it would be the thinkg to do....at around 1200$ you're set.
