Question Fuel Filter Question

Hey Gals And Guys I Was Wondering Does The Solara V6 Engine Fuel Filter Need To Be Replaced? I Do Alot Of Preventive Maintenance So I Do Not Want To Sound Dumb, The Reason Why I Ask This Is My Wife Has A Honda Accord And The Honda Dealership Has Told Me The Fuel Filter Never Needs To Be Replaced. Any Help Would Be Much Appreciated,by The Way My Car Has 92000 Miles And I Am Going To Change The Timing Belt @ 100000 Along With The Water Pump Etc. Etc. Etc.thanks, Corey

Corey,

I looked in the 'introductions' section but couldn't find a post from you so don't know what year Solara you're referring to.

Assuming it's a GenII ('04 or later) the fuel filter is in the gas tank and shouldn't need replacement unless your car is suffering fuel starvation problems.

About your other planned maintenance. Recommended replacement for the timing belt on the V-6 is 90,000 miles. Your plan to change the water pump at the same time is a good one.

Cheers

The 01 has nothing in the maintainence scedule about changing the fuel filter, but it is an old style in line filter.
Part number = 23300-20040
Sure wouldnt hurt to change it if its been on there for 100K miles.

No, the Gen I Solara V6 has a canister type filter. You'll find it under the airbox. It's black (assuming it's OEM) the fuel line comes out the top.

Cheers
