Canada easy tire question

Hi Newbie here,
I live in Canada and have a chance to acquire P215 65R15 winter tires for free. I know that my stock tire is a 205 65R15. My guess is that this should not be a problem but would like confirmation from those that know better (they are on stock 5bolt 4.5 rims).
Thanks in advance

Ponr,

From what I've learned in sizing up tires and wheels on my '00 I'd say you

are going to be fine. As long as those specific tires, at that size, are within

the dimensions allowable for your model year. The tire manufacturer should

have some table telling how tall those will be but on a stock 15" wheel I'll bet

65's are no problem and I believe the width is w/in the range for a stock

wheel also.

If ever in doubt you can try finding those same tires and cross it with your

Solara on the site tirerack.com ( or just the dimensions).

Hope that's helpful. I'm not the wize man on top of the mountain.

Later,

Go to 1010tires.com. Scroll down to the tire calculator and you will find out the difference between the two sizes.

you can run them, but you will be going faster and further than your speedo and odometer will tell you since the diameter of your entire wheel will then be 13mm taller than your stock size
