It depends which V6 you have (you don't mention what year Solara you own).
Here's the engine rundown (I'm including them all for future reference). Notice the Gen I V6 is non interference, Gen II is an interference engine.
5SFE (4cyl 99-01) - Belt, non-interference
2AZFE (4cyl 02-now) - Chain, non-interference
1MZFE (V6 99-03) - Belt, non-interference
3MZFE (V6 04-now) - Belt, interference.
Even if you own a Gen I V6 Corey, you should change the belt as recommended. When they break, Murphy's law kicks in and it'll happen on a Saturday night on an unlighted road on a hill, just beyond a blind corner with no shoulder out in the boonies somewhere with no cell service.
