XM radio adapter

Hello,
I just got an '06 Toyota Solara SLE that has the JBL sound system and the sat button. I am looking to get XM in there and was wondering if anyone has done the install recently.

My problem is that the stores that I have found online claim that the Terk XMDTLK is no longer being made anymore.

So does anyone know a store that still stocks this part and if not a cheaper place to get the dealer version.

Thanks!

Zman,

A quick Google search turned up severa places that stil have the Terk available. This site says it's in stock: http://techronics.com/index.cfm?fuse...5630&aff=72182
$166.00.

With the exception of the antenna the installation is straightforward. Toyota's instructions have you ripping out several panels, the back seat and fishing wire through some odd spaces to make sure the antenna has a clear view of the sky. If you don't want to go to all that trouble you could get away with putting the antenna on your dash up against the windshield post.

Cheers

Hi, I am in the same boat - new to a 06 Solara covertible - did you do this installation and how did it work out ? I am fairly mechanical - but not a genius that is for sure - just wanted to know your take on the procedure and whether it was worth it.
Thanks
Barry

Nope, never did it. It would be an easy install though.
