2002 Solara Remote Trunk Handle?

Hello,
I just bought a 2002 Solara SE and it didn't come with the owner's manual.
Does this car have an handle in the cabin to open the trunk from inside?
I tried looking around but it seems like there isn't, despite what the dealer said.

Another question, is it possible to install the original factory keyless entry system?

Thanks a lot,
-a

You're about to have one of those 'Doh!' moments. Take a look in your glove box. There should be a button on the left side.

If your car came from the factory without a keyfob for locking doors etc you'd save a lot of money by looking to the aftermarket. You can purchase everything from the most basic alarm system to full on units with remote start, window up/down control, trunk open/close you name it.

BTW your dealer should be able to order an owners manual for you or you can get your own online. Better yet you can download the entire factory service manual for your car, every TSB ever issued for it and while you're at it information for every Toyota in the neighborhood. Just logon to Toyota Information Services ( https://techinfo.toyota.com/ ) Pay the $10 for 24 hours of access and go to work. When you're finished there won't be any mysteries about your car from bumper to wiring harness.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply

I am actually a total newbie both in
-living in the USA (since I just came in)
-cars - I actually never own a car before and there are things, such as the Remote Start which I really do not understand.
Don't get me wrong, it seems cool to me to turn on your car from far away, but... Why would you ever want to do so? The only explaination is so that in summer the AC would make it cold before you get it, or warm in winter. But, really? is just that? or are there other reasons?

Anyway, for the keyless entry system I tried looking for aftermarket parts online, but I can only find remotes not the complete system. Any suggestion
And, are they easy to install? Like a standard connector or so?

Thanks a lot,
Bye,
Andrea
