The light you're describing is the low tire pressure warning light. On your car that system is operated by the anti lock brake sensors. If a tire on one side of an axle loses pressure the sensors see the tire/wheel turning more slowly than the tire/wheel on the other side of the car so turns on the light.
Read the instructions in your owners manual telling you how to reset the system (hold the reset button until the light blinks) after making a tire repair. Many owners don't and become frustrated when the light keeps coming on after a tire change or rotation.
