USA 04 solara rear view mirror help!!!

OK before anyone goes bashing the newbie for posting a thread that may already be in here. I've looked throughout the site to try and find the answer I'm looking for and even gone to the Toyota dealership they can't even help me.

With that said i have an 04 Solara 3.3L convertible i purchased two weeks ago today.

I noticed the rear view mirror was not working at all.. After further investigation i deemed the wires in the plug at the mirror had been severed leaving only one wire hanging on by a strand.

Can anyone please verify the wire color to pin location for me. The connector when removed from the mirror is numbered i need to find out the corresponding colors that go with the numbers if at all possible. It is an sle with compass and auto dimming feature. Thanks for any and all help anyone might be able to give. AJ in Little Rock

The factory service manual shows numbers next to wires for the mirror but I'm not sure they're the same as on your connector. Maybe we'll get lucky.

#3 is a red/white wire
#4 is a either purple/black or purple/blue (code is PB)
#7 code is BR so probably black/red
#6 is white/black

White/Black goes to ground, Red/Black is 12V+ the other two run to the left hand outside mirror aiming switch (no clue why).

BTW the dealer's shop (not parts counter) could have looked this up for you if they weren't just being lazy. Next time you need service maybe you'll want to use a dealership a little more willing to help.

Cheers

USA Getting closer!!

The wire colors you specified were correct. The pin locations used on my mirror are 1,2,4 and 5 unless they are counting from the other direction then i could see where they might be correct. I am going to attempt to try the locations backwards since i know where the white and black wire went that would make it the correct location. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks so much for the help. I will post results shortly. Hopefully i don't burn it up. much for you guys and all your help. Thanks AJ

USA A Celebration Is In Order!!!

:ban ana:Just as i expected!!!
Gadgetjq YOU ARE OFFICIALLY THE MAN!!! the wire colors were correct and the numbers on the connector are exactly backwards from your source i repinned the wires in the reverse order and it works great.. I can not thank you enough for your help. And just a note i went to our biggest dealership here in the state they did supply me with a schematic for the mirror only it did not specify the wires or color location. AGAIN much appreciated!! Wow, it's a good thing you had the white/black wire to give you a clue. The source, btw, was the factory service manual for '04 Solara.

Anyway, I'm happy it worked out for you.

Cheers
