newbie here..

Whats up everyone..just picked up my 2004 sle yesterday..I got to say that im very impressed..

Its fully loaded and I love it.

things that need to be fixed...are lumbar control button is in the seat..dealer will fix it...also..driver front windshield pillar..the tab looks streached out..and the pillar is hanging down..they said they will fix.

Since i purchased the car..was wondering what type of stuff i should do to it.

Any ideas would be cool.. any cool sites to purchase stuff from...Hid lights and so on..besides ebay.

thanks and hope to be here a long time

LG,

Some Generation II Solara owners have swapped out the front and rear lighting from the Gen 2.5 car (HID front, LED rear) You can swap out wheels for a larger diameter. Check www.tirerack.com where you can enter details for your car then choose various styles/sizes of wheels and see exactly what they'll look like on your car.

Toyota Racing Development (TRD) has suspension parts for your car so you can change out the sway bars and shocks if you want. Springs are available to lower the car too. Google will help you there if you don't already have sources.

There's not much you can do to the engine unless you want to add a K&N replacement filter, cold air kit and aftermarket exhaust (TRD again).

You can get some caliper paint and color your brake calipers. You can even upgrade to slotted brake rotors.

I 'think' but not certain so don't quote me on this one, you might be able to bolt on the Solara sport model's aero panels.

Ah, there's always good old window tint in various tints and colors.

You can swap out sound systems although the SLE has a fairly decent one (JBL) from the factory.

Just make the car your own using your own imagination rather than just copying what someone else has done.

Cheers

Your local Toyota dealer is a good place to start. Wrecking yards are another (for lighting from another car) and don't forget good old E-Bay where people part out cars all the time.

For new TRD parts ( www.trdusa.com/ ) check your local dealer or I've found good pricing and terrific service at Sparks Toyota ( http://www.trdsparks.com/ )

You'll find high performance brake parts here: http://www.r1concepts.com/

Another stop you might want to make is Toyota Information Services ( www.techinfo.toyota.com ) where you can pay about $10 for 24 hour full access to the site. The site has the entire factory service manual for your car along with every technical service bulletin (TSB) ever issued. When you're finished downloading info for your car you can start on items for all your friends with Toyotas.

Another worthy add is a service manual from Chiltons (amazon.com). It isn't as technical as the factory manual but does, curiously, have information not in the factory 'how to.'

That's enough to keep you busy awhile.

Cheers
