Navigation system question

On my 08 nav system when going to the quick access area for destination and touching one of the icons for a destination, the message "add to" or "replace" comes on and I have to pick one to go to my destination and then press guide and guidance starts. I usually press replace. The screen comes up with the destination that I originally tried to quick access then I touch guide and guidance starts.
Is this the way it works or am I doing something wrong? I think the procedure should be to press on the icon for a quick access point then the screen with the guide should come up and then touch guide and have guidance start.
Another thing, When I turn onto the destination street the "voice" states that I have arrived at my destination. The nav system gets me to the correct street but not at the exact address I need to go to even though I have put in the exact address. Luckily so far I have a clue as to where I need to go but someday I may be knocking on a door not meant for me to be knocking on! anyone else having these experiences with the Nav system?

Solara Nav Unit In Corolla?

Hello All,

I am wondering if anyone here would know with certainty if the 2008 Solara navigation unit would work okay in my 2009 Corolla.

My Corolla does not have JBL audio, but I am aware that I can purchase an amplifier and harness to make it work, if the other connections are fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

The choice "Add to" or "Replace" comes up because the previous destination entered has not been cleared from memory. So though you are choosing a new destination, the navigation system wants to know if you want to first go to the destination stored in memory that you previously entered and then to the new destination you are now entering (add to), or if you want to replace the previous destination with the new one (replace).

This is handy when you are being guided somewhere, and say you wanted to get a bite to eat or get some gas. You could then press "add to" and have it navigate you first to the detour and then automatically to the original destination.

Thank You

Thanks for your response to my Nav question re "add to or replace".
It just seems that if I use quick access icons the Nav system should just start with the guidence. If i start with a POI screen or address screen then add to or replace would maybe be appropriate.
Again thanks for the reply. Now in pressing replace I know I am doing the right thing for my purposes.
