Question Solara Convertible Rear Window Issue

Greetings all,
So I've been the delighted owner of my 2004 Solara Convertible since the end of May 2008. Needless to say that since I live (and drive) in the Texas Panhandle, the top stays down unless it rains. Fortunately it doesn't rain much here (good for me...bad for agriculture).
Anyway, it's Fall now and chilly in the a.m. I've been driving with the top up in the a.m. and have noticed there is a line rubbing across the top's rear window. Anyone else having this problem? Any way to prevent this? Any way/suggestions to rid myself of this vision annoyance short of replacing the top? It's not all that bad right now, but I can see it becoming a problem as time goes by.
Thanks for any and all info.
B/Didymop

I've just spent the past half hour or so looking for the same problem on various Solara/Toyota and other convertible oriented lists and came up empty. There's also no TSB that I can find (though I don't have the full list for your year). Not seeing anything and considering the same design has been used since '04 I'd have to guess it's pretty unusual.

If I were you I'd have someone raise/lower the top little by little while you watch inside/outside the car (you don't mention what side of the glass is being marked) to see what's touching the glass. It might be some odd little fold in the top or something else that you can easily move or cause to fold differently. Worst case (since you don't raise/lower the top frequently) you could keep a thick piece of paper/cardboard in the car the same size as the window and attach it before lowering the top.

Cheers

Thanks for looking elsewhere for this situation. I'll give your suggestion a try.
