Drivers side door and lock cables broke

Hello-
I was getting out of my 99 Solara yesterday and the cable snapped going from the inside door handle to the latch, when I took the panel off i realized that the lock cable also needs to be replaced bc the plastic sheathing where it attaches to the door handle snapped as well.

Has anyone replaced these cable before? I just go the cables from toyota but I dont know how to go about replacing as i cant get to the latch end. Do I need to remove the latch?

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks
Justin

Yes, you do need to remove the latch assembly to disconnect and remove the cables if they are available separately.

Used a good side flat blade screw driver between the rod and handle after you have un-clipped it from the rod. Give the screw driver a firm twist; don't force it, otherwise you will break the clip.
