Noobie with questions

Hello all you Solara Enthusiasts :

Its time to buy my wife a new car and we have it down to 3 The Solara, Mustang, and VW EOS all convertibles. Its going to be her midlife crises daily driver.

It seems very easy to find lots of info on the Mustang and the EOS but the Solora info is hard to come by.

I did a search here for 2009, or 2008 and not much comes up. Is there any good web pages? Is the 2008 Solara a great car?

According to consumer reports the Solora is the better of three cars and after visit to the dealership we like what we see. I also drive a 2001 Tundra and totally enjoy the experience of my Toyota.

Thanks in advance

Thanks Akfahad

Thanks for the reply and the good info!

I did check out solaraguy.com that place will be a great tool for a person that owns a Solara

I guess I am looking for info more about buying new and most all posts there and here seem to be about the years from 2000-2006 and not much about the convertibles.

I guess maybe its because the platform the car sits on has not changed yet hmmmm?

I have

recently purchased an 08 sle Solara convertible and after the test drive found it was just what I was looking for. It also has traction and stability control to help with our CNY winters. I also have an Impala 6 seater for when we have to transport the grandkids. Looked at the EOS and it seemed flimsy by comparison and reliability isn't too great. My uncle had a mustang convertible and liked it a lot. You are right though there isn't a wealth of info on the newer generation Solara esp the convertible. Will say that the Nav system isn't near as good as my Garmin. Also rear view is dodgey. I find though that correct adjustment of mirrors and the holes in the rear headrest help. No B pillar so that helps also. Solaraguy site won't let me log in and the administrator is unreachable so it is a read only site for me. Edmonds Solara site is mostly inactive.
Hope this helps.

They are very nice cars IMO, Leather seats, sunroof, sound system, etc. Very well worth the money you'll spend on it. Plenty of power with the six cylinder option.
