06 solara convert question

just bought a 06 solara sle convert, it has OEM in dash navigation (cool option) my question is regarding XM - there is a AM/SAT button on the nav screen which when this button is pushed it only flips to AM, manual says a tuner and antenna(sp) must be purchased from dealer
is anyone out there familiar with this option and what its cost may be
sorry to be so wordy!!

BD,

Here's a link to what you need being sold on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...5fInstallation

I would strongly suggest you not only search the Internet but check with your Toyota dealer for pricing. Also hunt up the installation instructions (there's a download someplace). The installation of the tuner box portion is really easy, it just plugs into the back of your stock tuner. The suggested routing for the antenna is a lot more complicated and pretty much involves ripping seats and panels out of the car. That's the 'factory' way and what your dealer would charge. The 'shadetree' way would be far simpler, you could just mount the antenna in the far corner of your dashboard and it would work almost exactly the same way.

Cheers

I have the same radio as you. I just called Sirius Radio, the car is already hooked up. It just used Sirius Radio and not XM.
