If auto trans check the drain plug, typically it is a 10mm hex socket.

If draining and refilling you will only get about 1/3 the total capacity, the remaining is in the torque converter.

The amount draining out is about 2 Qts.

Obtain a long nose funnel whose spout can fit into the top of the dipstick tube to add fluid. Add as much fluid as drains out.

Do 3-4 drain and refills with some driving in between and the majority of the fluid should be changed.

Trans fluid change

Check your owners' manual or even the dipstick itself as to which fluid you need. My 05 Solara takes a special Toyota fluid. I don't know for sure if yours is the same, but do check. Putting in the wrong fluid will really screw up the transmission. When I did my 05, I had to pour in 5 quarts of fluid to refill it. Some Toyotas have separate drains and fills for the transmission and the differential, though the use the same fluid. Those with a separate setup for the differential are refilled from a fill plug underneath. No real big deal to do, but you have to know which layout you've got. I'd suggest you pick up a repair manual for your car. Makes life a lot easier. Good luck.
