What's a "rollbar"?

You mean a strut tower bar (a.k.a. STB or the incorrect term: strut bar) or anti-swaybar?

I think he's referring to a rollbar. The type that protects you in a roll-over. Sorta like a rollcage, but designed for a convertible. For example, the MB SL500 has rollbar that pops up in fractions of a second if an accelerometer detects that you're about to go head over heels.

I don't think anyone makes one for the Solara covertible. Just drive carefully and hope that the A pillar is strong enough to support the weight of the car. =)

you are getting a rollbar for looks =) hehe well it serves a very good purpose while it looks good i guess. well if anyone know's who can make one id be interested in getting a roll cage while they are at it. i am on my way to a nice stiff gen4, however a roll cage would compliment it greatly.

to 'sillyrabbit':

Yep. It's called a rollbar. (or a roll-bar or a roll bar, how ever you want to spell it).

I meant to say that the one on the MB flips up but on most other cars they are fixed.

I'm not aware that they make one for the Solara, but since I'm far from an expert on this, you'll probably want other people to respond.

You could also try contacting Rod Millen as a start, perhaps they know more about this.

Good luck, and if you find or don't find one, let us know.

Rod Millen Motorsports,

http://www.rodmillenstore.com/
They're located in Huntington Beach, CA, and specialize in various aftermarket products for Ford, Toyota, and Honda.

They don't have anything listed on the web, but I think that website hasn't been updated in a while. Try giving them a call directly.

The new 2005 has a rollbar in the rear headrests. Not the typical rollbar one invisions, but that is their version of it
