Any recco for 99 Solara Brake pads &...?

I've got a 99 Solara SLE with *87k miles that needs new brake pads (again) and shocks and struts. I'd rather not take it to the Jerkies at the dealership because they have a sketchy reputation, but I want to make sure good parts go into the car. Any recommendations? By the way, my location is Toledo, OH.

I always ran hawk hps pads on my solara and I loved them. If you order them from the tire rack they usually have the best price, as well as a warehouse in Indiana- so you should get them next day like I do- Im just north of you in ann arbor, mi. Welcome to the site!

I have Axxis pads, although I'm also using drilled and slotted rotors and if you're using just regular blank rotors, I think any type pad will work. But Damon is right, tirerack.com is a good place to start with very comparative prices.

Your shocks/struts - depends on what you want to do, keep the stock feel and height, then go to ebay and pick up a set. If you want something a little stiffer with a slightly lower drop, then again, ebay...but Tokico HP Blues (struts) are nice and you'll have to research how much of a drop you want, if any for springs.
