wait...so you replaced it but don't know where to mount it? as in, you bought a new one and haven't installed it yet right?
and the crank position sensor is up and to the right of the crank pulley. I had to replace the one on my dad's sienna a couple years ago because it was leaking like a river...
you'll need a very large socket to get the old one out and to tighten the new one
as for the timing belt covers, yes, you do need them to protect the timing belt, seals and cam shaft pulleys
