Crank position sensor

Hello,

My name is Bria and I just recently replaced my crank position sensor on my 2000 toyota Solara, but I am unsure of where to mount it. I wasn't the one who removed it and the person who did left me hanging. If anyone could give me an idea of where it is supposed to go I would be greatful. I also need to now if the plate that covers the pullies on the left side of the engine(looking down at the engine) is needed that would be great as well.

wait...so you replaced it but don't know where to mount it? as in, you bought a new one and haven't installed it yet right?

and the crank position sensor is up and to the right of the crank pulley. I had to replace the one on my dad's sienna a couple years ago because it was leaking like a river...

you'll need a very large socket to get the old one out and to tighten the new one


as for the timing belt covers, yes, you do need them to protect the timing belt, seals and cam shaft pulleys
