2000 Solara 4cyl auto 118,000 miles. Car randomly does not start when key is turned. When it does not start nothing happens no clicking nothing. All the idiot lights come on. Lights work, radio works. Battery is 2-3 months old. plugs 6 months old. Took it to local mechanic. He kept it for a few days and of course it started every time. Any sugggestions???

I am having the same problem with my 2006 Solara. It first happened August 2008 and didn't happen again until May 2009. It has happened three times in the past 30 days. Two of those times I let it sit for 30 minutes or so and it cranked right up. Today I had to have it jumped off. My battery and alternator both check as being good. My car is the V6 SLE and has 65K miles on it. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them.
