On the news last week was a piece about the various Attornies General looking into the extended warranty business, especially the one which is heavily advertised on our local (NY & NJ) telvision and radio commercials. Seems the only one saving money with those warranties is the owner of the company! Consumer Reports recommends against them when you buy a dependable car (Toyota, for example), but there are no guarantees that yours, or mine, might not develop some expensive problem down the road. I've got almost 93k miles on my 05 Solara, with no extended warranty. My feeling is that it's not worth the money, but the decision is yours. Just make sure it's transferrable when you sell and read all the fine print, especially deductables and exceptions. Good luck. Hy
