So I'm finally thinking about getting a new car for myself after all these years. Not anything brand new, but I want a Solara.
I was considering a 2000/2001 solara only because I have found a lot in my area that all have < 70,000 miles on them and are in good condition. And since my '97 Camry is now well past 250,000 miles, I know the 1MZ-FE V6 is strong. Also, I like the look of that year's Solara more than the 2002-previous ones.
My real question is (after doing extensive googles and searches here on TN) is what is the availability for TRD superchargers for the 1MZ-FE/Solara? I can't seem to find them anywhere. Even the official TRD site doesn't list a supercharger for the new Solaras. Did they discontinue production or something? I don't really want to deal with the cost and annoyance of a custom turbo. Either I am looking in all the wrong places for the supercharger info or there just isn't any.
Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated because if I can't supercharge I might have to rethink year/model I'm going to go with. It will certainly still be a Toyota tho.
