Unable to Reset Maintenance Light

2006 SLE 30K

Maintenance Light came on at 30K. Have tried the process below 4 times. Did not work. I have reset the light before.
.
Any ideas. BTW; Last Try, Held the trip meter button down for a minute.

Step 1 Turn the key to the 'on' position.

Step 2 Reset both trip meters to zero. you can reset the trip meters to zero by selecting trip A or trip B and holding in the trip meter button for five (5) seconds.

Step 3 After both trip meters are reset, select any trip meter and hold in the trip meter button and start the car.

Step 4 Continue holding the trip meter button until the "maintenance required' light disappears.

I have an 05 Solara. To rest the maintenance light on my car, I do the following. Turn the key on. Set odometer to car's mileage, NOT trip mileage. Turn the key off. Hold the button in. Turn the key to the on position. A series of dashes will appear in the odometer line. They will disappear, one by one. When they are gone, the odometer reading will reappear. Start the car. The maintenance light will go out along with the other warning lights.

This is the correct method.

You don't have to clear the trip meters at all. Just make sure it's set to the odometer reading.
