99 Solara SLE V6 Engine Light

Hello all, first timer here.

My Solara is throwing the engine code "P1410" supposedly this means "EGR valve position sensor circuit malfuntion."

AutoZone's little receipt suggests:
"Open or short circuit condition" or "Poor electrical connection"

I searched for it on here and they suggested replacing the EGR valve, but since I have no idea what I'm doing or what an EGR valve is, I need help.

Suggestions for this error code?

Thank you.
