Car is Smoking and I'm Pissed

I have a 2002 Solara V6

Ok here's the run down

Sometime last week both tail and license plate light had blown, found out it was the fuse so I went out and bought a 10A for the tail light. My nephew put installed in tail light didn't come on. hmmm so he checked the brake light said the metal tips was a little dark so he installed a new 15A brake fuse didn't realize he left the headlights on!! Now BOTH 10A and 15A are blown hmmm. He ran out of 15A but we had more 10A so he tried a 30A in the 15A place all lights came on he said to change it soon over the weekend. I left and went to shells gas station for air in my tire filled it up to 40 psi started driven home... All of a sudden I started to smell something burning so I stop and look smelled around the fuse area seem fine then I notice the ABS light was on and the TRAC Off was flashing THEN I HAD NO TURN SIGNALS as soon as I pulled into the garage and turn off the car I started to see smoke coming from the passenger side AC vent I don't know what to do now I got class in the morning and no freaking transportation

This is gonna take some time which is typical with electrical issues. Start with getting your hands on a repair manual. Either a solara or camry manual will be acceptable. I know if you search you can find a free pdf of the camry manual.

I suggest pulling the tailights and looking carefully at the bulb sockets and wiring. Look for any beaks or signs of scorching. The damage as seen by the smoke many not be too serious.

Pull the tail lights and look carefully for signs of electrical shorts. A powered line is grounding out. Most likely the short is near a light socket.

Fuses never JUST BLOW. The problem needs to be found before you start replacing fuses. NEVER replace a fuse with a higher amperage fuse. If there is a short somewhere all that will do is encourage serious wiring harness damage or a fire. You have to find the short first man.

WAIT!

What year car are we talking about here? (sorry if I missed that) Boneyards and a local electrical shop can be your friends in this situation. I'd bet you can save at least half.

EDIT: I see the year. 02 Solara. You should be able to pick up that harness used fairly cheap. The shop will just use the part of it they need. As long as all of their connections are soldered and heatshrinked, there should be no issue.
