2006 Convertible with top issues

I have a 2006 Solara Convertible with top issues. It has been garaged and only has 35,000 miles. I only drive it on weekends and mostly with the top down. In June, one of the latches that holds the top down broke and recently, the electrical parts that connect to one of the hinges came undone. The repairs have been costly and not what I would expect from a quality car. Is anyone else having top issues?

I had two Chrysler convertibles before this one that I drove much harder (every day) and neither had any top issues. Any insight?

I've had a 2006 for a year now, and the top gets dropped quite often. No issues with the latches, have you looked to see if there was a recall or service bulletin? Maybe they got damaged somehow?

Just checked...no TSB's on either issue. It'd generally be too late as most are effective with the 36-month/36K miles
