2002 Solara: Hood alignment issue and loose turn signal housing issue. Please help

My 2002 Solara convertible has a hood alignment issue. The passenger side is perfect. The drivers side is good up until around the last 2 feet where it is about a center-meter or 2 above the side of the fender. Does anyone know why this is and how to adjust?

Also on that same drivers side the turn signal housing keeps moving out and is loose. On my old car there was just an easy to reach wheel to secure that housing but I dont know how to secure it on the Solara.

Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi-

I have the slightly different 2000, but I also have a left tun signal/parking light that is loose and wants to drop out and hand. I know why- and I need to replace my headlight assy on that side as well.

Your lamp assy should be held on in 3 spots- there is a screw and a plastic tab on the top of lamp assy, a plastic "clip" on the fender side, and a plastic "clip" or "tab" on the headlight side. There is a mating "slot" for each of the two clips or tabs on the lamp assy- that when sliding parking light in- will hit the slots.

My problem is the plastic tab at the top(screw tab) broke off on mine- AND the plastic slot that is molded into the side of the headlight- that catches the side tab is broken off.

I could just replace the parking light assy and hold it in with the screw-but being plastic, and vibrations in the cold from hitting potholes and other winter normalities up here would just break that tab. I really need to replace my headlight housing as well.- you just probably look at yours and see if all three mounts are in place.

Thanks Chris. I found that screw and moved the signal assembly as you suggested. It does seem as one of the tabs on it is broken. I will probably try to live with it broken or find a home made fix.

Do you have any idea where I can find a way to adjust my hood so that the drivers side aligns better (lower) with the front fender?
