Hello,

I have a 1999 toyota solara sle and the finish on the leather steering wheel has worn off. I need to replace the steering wheel. It's beige leather. I got a replacement at an auto wrecker from a 2002 that they said would be the same. I took it to my mechanic and when he took it apart to install it was different than my original and wouldn't fit. Yes, consider repairing and redying your existing wheel. You can buy a kit on E-bay for around $20, and it's simple. And you know the wheel will fit... You simply sand it smooth, hit it with some dye, use a topcoat to seal it and let it dry overnight. I have done this a few times, and will probably do a few more because of the heat we have down here...
