2004 Solara Dashboard Cracks

I have a 2004 Toyota Solara with about 112,000. I noticed a couple of months ago cracks appearing on the dashboard. The vehicle is very well taken care of, and windshield cover used to protect from the heat/sun. I searched google and found out this is a common problem with this year solara and several other toyota vehicles. Does anyone know if toyota has a TSB for this issue or an open investigation? Is anyone else experiencing dash cracks?

I attached the url to the website.

I never had that problem with my 05 Solara, even after 145k miles and 6 years of ownership, along with the varying weather (sun, heat, and cold) of New York. I haven't seen or heard of a TSB on that. At 112k miles and 7 years on your car, I wouldn't expect Toyota to do anything about it. Unfortunately, removing a dashboard to recover is a major project. The only suggestion I have is to go to an auto re-upholtery shop. They might be able to give you some suggestions or alternatives. They might (and that's a big might) be able to cover the dash without a total removal, perhaps by loosening the instrument and radio clusters. It's worth a try. Good luck. Hy
