Question Warning light on

2004 solara se

yesterday a light came on. it is the exclamation point in the circle. from reading the manual, I thought it indicated that my brake fluid was low so I topped it off (it was exactly half between the min and max levels before i filled it).
The light is still on and I was wondering what else could cause this light to go on.
I visited the dealer to see if they could pull a code to give me a list of potential causes but they refused and instead wanted me to make an appointment for a 2-4 hour diagnosis....

Is it worth trying to get the codes from other places?

Don't know if it is related, but I have owned the car for about 6 months now and yesterday was the first time driving in snow with it and the first time the ABS has ever kicked in (and it did it a lot). even though the ABS light is NOT on, could it be related?

you can get codes read at an autoparts store usually.. and no your ABS light will NOT flash on when the system engages. the ABS light is for system malfunction. either brakes will chatter when not applied, or you will not have the "anti lock" effect.

Now hear me out. if you very seriously are seeing a yellow warning light that is a (!)
this is more than likely your TPMS sensor light ( tire pressure monitoring system)

I notice you're from a winter having climate. every 10 degress F deviation of the area, is 2psi deviation from your tire.

also if this is the TPMS light. there is a possibility of it being bad. the the cheapest POS for 60-80 dollars a crack.

Yessir I found out how to reset it and that was the problem.

The bigger problem is that the dealer who I had to fight with to give me a owner's manual (a used car) also claimed adamantly that the solara and the camry ones were the same...so I was basing my diagnosis on the list of warning lights I saw in the camry manual they gave me...the warning light is slightly different and apparently makes all the difference.

thanks for the input.
