HID question for Solara

I'm doing some research on HID kits for my Solara.

Yeah, i'm looking on Ebay, sometimes they have good stuff, sometimes not. But... i was wondering, what should i watch out for or look out for.

Also, since i have 2000 Solara, i have only a one bulb head-light, so... I have seen "Bi-HID kits for high and low beams. Do i have to get those kind of kits that are Bi? Or is it just some marketing sceme on Ebay....

Thanks all~!

Unless you get/make a shield, you're asking for glare. The bi kits are notorious for failing. If you actually use your highs, you might wanna eb careful going HID.

Stick to reputable sellers and get brand name ballasts and bulbs.

http://www.xenondepot.com/ is a vendor here. They're pretty well known locally for providing great products and service. I'm not affliated with them nor have I purchased from them. Strictly word on the street.

As a fella solara owner i can tell you that if you go with any plug& play kit your asking for GLARE. HID and our halogen reflectors (ie. non HID Reflectors) aren't exactly what bmers and lexus have. You basically have a few choices:
1. Go plug and play ( )
2. Go plug & play with a shield (still not good).
3. Go plug and play w/ shield and HID reflector (possible, but i've not seen it yet on a solara)
4. Go custon w/ shield and HID reflectors (not we're talking)
5. Go bixenon projectors..(BEST). Out housings are big enough to accomodate them...and if more solara people join wanting this..we all could have a GB .

Oh yeah, i heard about "glare" before... That's basically blinding on-comming motorists and very dangerous correct?

Yea, I want to do it the right way. i checked out XenonDepot, and I don't think they have ne thing "specific" for the Solara as Jhbhatia stated...

Hhmmm

They have a h4 unit (but its not hi/low) and at least they are honest not to sell crummy hi/lo h4's that don't work. Xenondepot has good stuff. No offence to them...but custom bixenon projectors are the route...
