I am trying to help a buddy of mine sell his '99 TRD Edition Solara. Its the #1 out of 35 built, it was a pace car for a grand prix event, you get the idea.
I was making calls to a few of the collectors I know that may be interested but I really have limited knowledge of the car. I deal with TRD for Lexus so I know the quality of the parts but I could not find a spec sheet anywhere online for the Solara. The owner knows very little about the car so I need to get some more info and specs.
If anyone can link me to a good site for the info that would be great!
That was so long ago I couldn't find any info on the 'net. If I'm not mistaken, all the car had was rims, Bilstein struts, TRD springs, maybe TRD rear swaybar and custom paint. Nothing too special.
Well just by looking at the car I saw a 7 piece Molly Designs TRD body kit, TRD Exhaust, TRD interior accents, TRD Wheels, 5 speed with TRD knob, TRD window banner, TRD badging, 1/35 engraved dash piece...
The thing REALLY moves! I was suprised and thought there may be more than just TRD exhaust as a factory performance upgrade.
This is the actual car I am referring to:
Any other links would be greatly appreciated

I took all that cosmetic stuff as being obvious. In terms of performance enhancements, there was nothing memorable about it. Heck, not even a supercharger (I don't think).
Is it a 5spd manual? Those things move, even in stock form!
^^ yeah, but that wasn't an OFFICIAL toyota pace car, unlike the what the thread started is wanting to pitch for his homie. Normally, i'd say part it out..and i'd be in for (kit/wheels/etc). But for that car...its a collectors item, don't part it...and i'm too poor to buy it. Good luck selling it.
(there was some gen 1 solara pace cars which were replace with gen 1.5 fenders, grill, bumper cover, fogs - the rear tail lights were still gen1)....in 2001...was this part of the update..or does this still have the gen 1 front bumper
Even if it's a collector's item, it still has all the parts that you can buy "off the shelve". Unless it has some sort of custom parts from TRD or Toyota that's not available from anywhere else.
Personally, I don't think it's worth anything more than a regular solara with all those parts. But that's not to say some people won't pay more for it.
