I saw a Gen 1 Solara 2 tone car today. White on the top and tan on the bottom. Just like the Camry colors. Has anyone ever seen one before? Cause I have never seen a 2-tone solara...ever!

5 Lug Corolla WHAT?
I've seen a couple of them. I've seen a few with white over tan, dark green over tan, red over tan, and even one with black over tan. They are very rare, but someone in my neighborhood has one, and once and a while one appears on ebay.
none of the OEM colors options included two tone solaras. However, some of teh dealerships that get that cars from 'gulf states distibutorship' got two tone solaras. I think the two tone thing works great on old merc, LS400, ES300 and gen4 camrys; Not on solara's.
I dunno about you guys but my family had one of the first 1999 V6 SLE's when the Solaras first came out and it was two tone, straight from the dealer but I'm not sure if they added it, from what I remember there was no dealer modification to the paint, it came straight from the factory.
Forest green up top and a champagne or beige on the bottom.
It looked ok on my mom's solara but that is probably because SHE drove it.
I've seen quite a few with the two tone.
One thing I've noticed is that quickly after the first year they stopped a few paint options, I think mine is sandrift metallic (kind of like the champagne but a lil darker) and I rarely see any solaras with it other than a couple 1st gens.

If your in FL, i think gulf states distributes there too. it didn't come straight from factory, toyota uses "Gulf States Toyota" a distribution company to add port options on toyota cars+trucks. Yeah, the dealers don't add the two tone paint, but the distributor does...hence my previous comment. I know cus my camry was/is two tone...and all thanks to gulf states, it wasn't a factory...its was distributorship (seperate from dealership).

Ahhh, OK now I understand what you meant by gulf distribution company.
thats kind of strange though, I really think the 2 tone paint looks pretty nice on some solaras and I think it makes most camrys look a lot better than a standard finish. Of course, that depends highly on what colors you choose.
kind of strange why toyota just doesn't offer 2 tone to everyone. I have noticed that the 2 tone jobs seem to be pretty popular with the, uhmm, elder population. Who knows, that might be why I see a lot of em down here in FL!
