New Solara Owner

I am taking delivery of a 2000 Solara SE v6 w/ 5 speed, Black on black, next week. I look forward to my first long drive of the car. I wanted to know where i should start with getting updated strut/sway bars. Where can i get them at the best price. I checked ebay but didnt turn anything up although i could be wrong. The strut bar i bought for my es300 only cost me $25 and was a great addition. I also wanted to know if there is a rear strut bar available. I will get into springs and struts later because i already have a plan for that. Any information would be a great help and I appoligize is this has already been covered. I look forward to being a member on your forum.

-Justin

^^ do note that solara comes nicelu equipped with a great from strut bar! don't need to upgrade unless you go s/c route (and only why cus the oem doesnt fit with the s/c). THe rear sway bars are like $155shipped, a few people have them online, thats IS the best price. (unless you want whiteline..then i don't know)..and BTW: WELCOME!

i knew it was equiped from the factory with one, but i just wanted to know if there was better ones out there. Thanks for the information. Also does anyone have any real dyno results of the injen air intake? Im sure im asking questions that have been asked over and over again. I just wanted mainly to introduce myself and start with the basics. I believe my first mods will be some minor exterior DIYs and an APEXI N1 universal muffler. Thanks again.

btw: if you don't get the answers here, you can search on solaraguy.com i'm sure they will have anwers in the SEARCH section for you! The stock bar is great, its not bad IMO, if you just go with lowering + rsb; that would make a decent difference in your ride!

If you're looking at adding to the handling aspect of your ride I would definitely recommend sway bars by Whiteline. I think they were roughly $150.

check out www.ctmotorsport.com

This is where I ordered my front and rear swaybars.
IMHO, these would make your car handle well, but to get the most out of them they need to be used in conjunction with a either aftermarket springs & struts or a coilover system. (I would recommend www.jic-magic.com for coilovers)

Don't get me wrong they will work fine without any other suspension mods but you will notice even more difference with an upgraded suspension.

Most ppl tend to just use an upgraded rear sway bar because it tends to make the car less prone to understeer.

I went with both of them and the car as a whole feels much more balanced and stable than it did before.

When going through an aggressive set of turns the car rotates much more freely than when it was stock and there is a significant reduction in body roll as well. Bear in mind that I changed my suspension before upgrading the swaybars so your experience may differ.
