There is already a supercharger available from TRD for the V6. The sc is instant full time power and not very expensive (depends on your budget

). With the SC, TRD releases the application with a 4psi pulley. Sound pethetic to you? It does to me...

The first reaction is to get a smaller pulley and increase to a respectable amount of boost. The problem is, those that don't monitor and add fuel propperly WILL blow knock sensors to start with $$$$. Secondly, you can only go up to 6psi safely with 93 octane pump gas. Try more and your piston ring lands will get toasted! I know I tried it and know others that have as well. Check the link in my sig for pics of my old pistons. The pistons in the 1MZ-FE are some extremely cheap aluminum alloy CRAP.
So now back to the turbo

. Low boost turbos typically have a longer spool-up time so if you're going with a low boost setup, it's better to stick with the sc (my opinion). If you wanted to run more boost, you MUST build the engine to handle it. Now to the controvertial part I might get flamed for (I'm ducking

). How many people really fix up Camrys? The truth is, not many. That is why it is so damn difficult to do it. Nobody makes crap for our car even though it is about the most common car out there. Everything you do is custom and very expensive. My bet is a decent turbo setup for a V6 making good boost will set you back $15,000 at a minimum. When you count in all the parts and work that has to go into the drive train to get it to handle it plus the cost of the turbo itself. With that in mind, how much in sales do you think the turbo manufacturer could count on? That's why I think there is no turbo for the V6. -JoeB
