Does anyone know if Toyota released the Solara in Japan (Gen 1 specifically - 1999-2000)? I'm curious if they might have any parts over there that we could use. Specifiacally, I'd love to find a good quality urethane front bumper (R34 or similar). Also maybe a trunk panel. Anyone know? Thanks -JoeB

Camry has more aftermarket support for sure. But when i was reading taiwanese car magazines, i would say camry's aftermarekt support were almost as much as accord. for example, I seen many true coil over kit, big brake kit, catback exhaust....etc. but it just no company would import them into the state.

So don't you have the option of importing them from overseas to get all these parts? Since they probably brought them here for the Camry aftermarket, they will all match your car perfectly.

That's what I was thinking. Many of the parts for the Gen 4 Camry will work on the Gen 1 Solara but in this case, I'm looking for a couple Solara specific parts. I know in California, it might be a little more difficult but in other states they aren't as strict and don't look for things that aggressively. I guess I was hoping that they either had a Solara or a car that was called something else and was actually the same. Thanks for the help though. It's just SO sickning everytime I call someone about parts and they have NO interest in doing anything for our platform! They don't even want to discuss a group buy of 20 or so, they want to know they can sell 1000s. It's understandable but frustrating. -JoeB

From my time at solaraguy: Solara has been exported to Russia (Russianguy), i've seen a solara w/ "D" plates - meaning Delhi plates (in India) at delhi-agra highway and i've seen another solara speeding at dubai-abu dhabi highway (ie. UAE with RAK plates). meaning: we are aware of only three solara's exported..

I tried but no one can help me send parts over, also no shop or manufacture are willing to ship it oversea.
I have a 99 toy solara I4. I'm looking to swap in either the 3sgte(turbo) motor or the 1mz motor. Does anybody know which motor would be the better and easier motor to swap in. I also want to know which tranny could i use for either motor

How much hp are you making at stock boost. Also how is the driveability of the motor when its turbocharged, im thinking about turbocharging that motor with a similar set up to your set up

i have no stock boost because it doesnt come with turbo stock. i am shooting up 185whp and 187lb torque. to swap 1mzfe is easier then 3sgte because you would need some custom fabriacation for 3sgte.
