no tools needed, just remove the rubber boot from behind the headlight housing, undo the metal clip and wiring harness, then replace the bulb. dont touch the glass part because oils from your skin will make the bulb blow!

There is also a bulb called "cool blue" that will give you the xenon "look". I personally think its ricey, plus they throw a lot less light than stock, but to each his own. Stay with the name brands and avoid anything with korean characters and xenon spelled with a Z. Dont get overwattage bulbs (like 90 or 100w) because they will melt your harnesses.

yeah, take everyone's advice here and stick with silverstar. I tried them tinted blue bulbs before and spent over $100 trying different ones out.... If you want brighter bulbs, try the European silverstars. their clear, not tinted like the American silverstars. You should be able to find some on ebay. try this site for a good read on EVERYTHING lighting related:

Agreed. I tried both euro and usa spec silverstars. The euro ones are brighter, but they are the same color as stock headlights because they dont have the slight blue tint that the US specs have to make the crisp white light you see in the advertisements.

I used some purple tinted bulbs off ebay, 100watt. They looked like HID's more than anything else I've seen and still presented good lighting, unlike most blue bulbs. Paid less than $20 delivered and used them 3 years before switching to yellow's.
How about toshiba HIR bulb. But they only have for 9006 and 9005, around $60 a pair. I've never tried it, so I don't know it's good or not, but a lot of members from hidplanet said it worth the money.
