Suspension help for '00 Solara

Hi everybody.
Kinda new to all this mod stuff.
Please help me pick a new suspension for my solara.
I've been looking arround and found Tein and JIC coilovers, Eibach Springs, Tokico struts and a bunch of other stuff. Getting confused in all that stuff. Any recomendations to what I should get?

what year is your Solara?? I have a 2000, I first had Eibach springs with the 1.6'' with KYB-2 struts, it handled pretty well, the struts softened after 1 1/2 years. then replaced with Tokico blue, they crapped out after a year. Finally did it right and just paid the money got the Tein SS coilovers. THEY ARE AWESOME. have a 1.75'' drop damping set at 11. Love it! one point had it at a 2'' drop but had to raise it only because it would bottom out on my STEEP driveway into my lower garage. All I can say is it's worth it doing it right the first time, it handles sooo much better then struts and set spring setup. This you can adjust the damping, ride height and spring rate.

I have a 2000 also, the only problem is that it states on TEIN website that SS coilovers are only for a 1MZFE. Unfortunatelly I have a 5SFE. Any chance that they will fit my car?

Hmm.... that is weird. I'm not sure what the suspension setup is different for the 4 cyl, compared to the 6 cyl. I'd maybe call TEIN and see if they can give you a reason what the difference is. That sucks if so because I can tell you from experience off having both types of suspension changes the Coilovers are just a HUGE difference, in terms not only of how your Solara will look but just how it handles. I'm actually going to try and put pictures of my car up on here this weekend.

I guess I'd say if you can't get the Coilovers, the Eibach pro kit is nice, and honestly you'll hear a TON of people saying get the Tokico Blue over the KYB GS-2 struts, since I had both, I really didn't notice much of a difference between the two. Also a nice pretty cheap way to help your suspension a bit is to add a Rear Sway Bar, it's a fairly easy install you could do yourself if you have the tools, plus it runs about $150-$175 helps your understeer noticably when correnering sharp. Hope this helps! good luck!

Could you please do me a favor and check the weight of your car? The sticker is on the Driver side door. If anybody else is reading this thread, I need a stock weight of a gen1 V6 Solara.
I have talked to TEIN, and they don't know a thing. Spoke to one of their resellers and they said that mounting points are the same, but there might be an issue with the weight. I personally don't think that there would be an issue with the weight, because as far as I know, the difference in weight is about 100LBS. 3200LBS vs 3300LBS don't make much of a diff....
Please check and advise me.
Thanks in advance

thats ok... I think you're very close to the weight.... as far as I remember 1mzfe should be 3300lbs, 5sfe around 3200
