I have seen a lot of discussions about JIC suspension for our solaras, most of the reviews were pretty bad.... I've heard that JIC uses stock KYB struts and aftermarket springs...
I've found 3 models.
SF-1=$1400;
FLT-A1US/FLT-1US=$1300;
FLTA2=$1700.
I think that the stock KYB struts applies only to the SF-1 model... They actually state so....
as far as FLT's seem is that they're using something else. But then again, I haven't dealt with JIC ever, so I have no clue if thats true or not. Personally, I'm going for TEIN SS coilovers. It's cheaper than JIC and everybody says that its great.
Just thought to provide some input on what I saw...

Thinking of Tein Coilovers and ED VIP body Kit and Ripp Supercharger
jic are meant for auto x. jic are very stiff coilovers, but handle great like no other. tein ss coilover are nice and aren't as stiff. the tein are more for daily driven. i personally have the jic a2 and yes they are very stiff. but i love it more stiff then soft. i like to feel the road.
But I think JIC right now is the only one FULLY adjustable suspension for the SOlara's.
all others are Strut and Spring combo. (or coil-over, but that doesn't have dampering settings)
Correct me if I'm wrong guys~
You're wrong
Other choices include Tein SS (16-way adjustable) or D2/Ksport (36-way adjustable). We've also learned of a TOM's coilover (but you can forget that it's outrageously expensive plus shipping from Japan).
I myself have the Tein SS. I love them although I do wish it came with a slightly stiffer spring rate.
Edit: I believe a problem with JIC coilovers is their dampening is hard to adjust.

Depending on your driving and what you're looking for, coilovers might not really be necessary. If you're planning on AutoX, then you can make an argument for installing them. If you're just looking for a drop and don't need aggressive handling, you might be happy with a spring/strut combo, possibly sway bars if that doesn't do it enough for you. I'm running the Tein S-Techs with factory struts and it's great. They're comfortable and lowered the body a reasonable amount.
If I were you, I'd take an extra minute to think things through. Coilovers are a great investment, but for the price of new coilovers, you can almost get springs and a used sc, which I know I would prefer...

Well the original poster has a 5SFE... but I got coilovers for a more aggressive drop and improved handling. My H&R springs on blown struts just were not cutting it.
