Hey guys my mom got me a 2002 Toyota Camry Solara 2dr Coupe SE V6
(well she paid for half of it anyway) and I was wondering if it's a good car (power, HP, etc) since I had a 95 camry LE I don't know much about new cars.
the solara is no doubt a bad ass car. The only problem is the mods for it cost more than lets say...a honda. But I love it, and if I had to make the choice again I'd still make the same one.
No doubt, it says it has 200 HP...we'll see about that later tonight...
I was wondering what's the difference between a SLE and an SE, cuz there's this guy up my block that has a 2001 SLE but his car has 157 HP, ain't the extra "L" mean anything???

He probably has a 4 cylinder. BTW if you want to ruin your engine go over 55 mph and floor it a lot within the first 1,000 miles

Actually, that rule doesn't really apply anymore to the newer cars. It's more like dont' go over 85mph...wouldn't suggest flooring it either but I wouldn't drive the car like a grandmother either. It's a machine and it needs to be worked in. I personally would push it a little bit in the beginning...and definitely don't use your cruise control!
The SLE trim includes climate control and only automatic transmissions for both I4 and V6. I thought only '02-up Solara had the 2.4L VVTi engine that produces 157-HP. AFAIK, the '99-'01 still had the 2.2L 5SFE.

Mine's a 3.0 L, with 200 HP, it's no Celica (I'm planning on getting one, since Supra's are so damn rare and expensive) but I hear it's pretty tight.

He specifically said he got an SE V6. I would take it easy the first 1,000 miles. It really is not driving fast, you really should not keep it at one speed for too long, i.e. do not use cruise control.
