Gen1 i4 to v6 swap

Hi all,
I live in CA and I've been waiting for a while to get enough budget to buy a rippmods supercharger for my Gen 1 5sfe, but now my dubass friend got fired from a smog check station, and I have no way to go arround the smog check, so the only option that seems left is swapping engines.
Has anyone ever done a 5SFE to a 1MZFE swap. I know, that I will have to change the ECU, "rewire half the car" and might have to change the tranny too. Any ideas on a price tag? Anything else I would need to make a swap possible?
I love the car, but that 139hp which is probably 115WHP absolutely kills me.
my friend-->> <<--me hehe j/k

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

best thing to do is sell your car and get a v6 supercharged for about 11grand. The lowest I've seen one go for was $8500 v6, 81,xxx miles , 5speed , supercharged, trd kit, etc.I think it was a 99. Its too much of a headache to swap engines, unless youre planning to throw a 3sgte in there or something. good luck tho!

I don't think the actual Rippmods header won't pass smog. I had bosal brospeed headers which are identical to the rippmods one and I pass easily. Its the visual that you might worry about, if you know the guy and he's cool with smogging it with the stuff you got on your car, then no worries.

its possible. ive done it. plan to spend like 2000-2500 on parts alone. that is if you have skills with engines and maybe some custom fabrication, and some serious wiring skills too...
