The parts department at Toyota should have instructions on how to do it.

The Toyota Electronic Control Module does not have programming modes without a pre-programmed key.
If there is no key available that is already programmed into the module, the module must be replaced.

Add Duplicate Key:

1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time.
2. Insert existing master key into ignition. Do not turn the key from the OFF (LOCK) position.
3. Within 15 seconds of inserting the key, depress and release the accelerator pedal five times.
4. Within 20 seconds of completing the above step, depress and release the brake pedal six times and
remove the key.
5. Within 10 seconds, insert the new key into the ignition.
6. Within 10 seconds, depress and release the accelerator pedal one time.
7. After 80 seconds the new key is registered and the security light will go off.
8. Remove new key and depress and release the brake pedal 1 time

To delete all but one key from the unit:

1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time.
2. Insert existing master key into ignition. Do not turn the key from the OFF (LOCK) position.
3. Within 15 seconds of inserting the key, depress and release the accelerator pedal six times.
4. Within 10 seconds of completing the above step, depress and release the accelerator pedal seven times.
5. The security light will flash, indication all keys other than the one being used have been deleted.
6. Remove the key from the ignition cylinder within ten seconds. It will be the only key still programmed to work

Here try this.

* Remote programming

Start with drivers door open, unlocked, and no key in the ignition.
Insert and remove the key from the ignition switch twice within 5 seconds.
close and open the driver door twice within 40 seconds.
Then insert the key into the ignition key cylinder and remove it.
Close and open the driver door twice within 40 seconds.
Then insert the key into the ignition key cylinder and close the door.
Turn the ignition switch from LOCK to ON and back once and remove key
Locks should cycle once.
Within 40 seconds press the LOCK and UNLOCK switches on the transmitter switch simultaneously for 1.0 – 1.5 seconds.
Within 3 seconds after the previous operation, press either one of the switches for more than 1.0 seconds.
Within 3 seconds after the transmitter switch has been turned OFF, the LOCK–UNLOCK operation will be automatically performed once if the registration of the recognition code of the transmitter is completed correctly.
In case the LOCK–UNLOCK operation is performed twice, the registration of recognition code has failed.
Perform the registration procedure from the beginning once again.

Jloh,

That was very nice of you to spend all that time posting instructions but a heads up. You were responding to a post from October 2005. I suspect by now the original poster has figured it out. Just something to watch for when you're tempted to answer a question...see when it was posted.

USA KeyLess entry problem

Hi there. My both remote controls for 2005 Solara have problem to unlock / lock the door. I have to press several times before it will work. I've changed the battery on one of them but it did not fix the problem. I read somewhere on line that it could be a faulty relay. Did anyone have the same problem?
Thanks,

Relay location

Does anybody know where is relay for door control located in fuse / relay box. Manual tells about fuses but nothing about relay. I want to try to change it before I buy new remote control.
