My wife found this site in search for info on disassembling the tailgate/rearwindow on my '86 4runner. Well, found what I needed to know in the Haynes manual. But, since I am a member of another toy forum (yotatech.com) I thought I would see what you all were up to on TN. Never hurts to broaden your bases. So, I hail from NW Ark. My wife and I have ten acres in the woods secluded enough to shower out of doors and not be intruded upon by neighbors in general. Our house is on a south facing overlooking a large bench just bringing our view level with the tree tops. We are surrounded completely by woods with a large number of critters. We have an animal sanctuary and love to do things outside the conventional box. We enjoy the simple things and can appreciate the beauty in just living simply without fanfare and alot of modern "necessities". Hence, we have an outhouse, live on a well, and heat with wood. And I can actually say I do "live in a barn"! Half the house is a two story barn modified to living quarters. It is adjoined to an old cabin framed in oak lumber, mostly. As for our rides, we are a two Toy family. A '92 and an '86 4runner. The former is hers and the latter is mine, respectively. Where we live you could not make it in or out easily without four wheels and certainly not regular passenger vehicle, atleast not without putting a hole or two in your gas tank. Hers is our "luxury vehicle" and mine is the utility vehicle. It's got the gears, man! Although, hers is better at hauling a trailer for wood, water, and critter food. More horsepower and no clutch to mess with. We enjoy our Toyotas and happen to believe they are indeed excellent vehicles. We have had a number and none seem to have quite the reliability. The '86 is reaching 200k and going strong. The '92 had some idiots service her before we owned it. As a result, we are having to put another motor in it. The new horse has only 18k original miles and has never left the pavement, much less the garage. Payed $1250 not including shipping and the eventual laybor. Still less than 2k, so far, on estimate. So, that's a little about me. Thanks for having me! See yall on the forum.
Yes, it's quite cold up here. We have about 5 inches of snow sitting outside right now. Earlier this year, before halloween, we got 13 inches of that wet, heavy snow that brings down power lines, trees, and roofs. Some places even got over 2 feet during that particular storm.
That's a good joke. So true also. Sadly, it seems as if every winter gets shorter though... for snowfall that is. Usually it's sunny during the winter up here, but that doesn't keep it from being -20F.
One would really have to love cold weather to live there I suppose. I've never seen that much snow in my life. Everyone around here gets very excited when it snows here. "Like, oh my God! What is that?! I think I've seen that before. Wow, that's cold!" There is mad dash at the Wal-Marts for sleds and winter gear when the weatherpeople predict snow. Life somehow has meaning again for a short time. I know what you mean about less snow, though. It's a very unusually warm winter here. There were very light snow flurries today. I was in the outhouse (maybe that's more than I need to post, but for sake of reference....) and I saw it. Holy s@#t! That's snow! I mean it's almost spring like. Globalwarming? Get out your drip buckets everyone. The icecaps are melting......
Weird! After posting this I noticed that it posted down at the bottom of the thread before my first post. Out of order. Atleast from my side of cyberspace. The power shut down from high winds today. I wonder if that screwed up my settings?
