Gen5 New owner

1st Toyota, though I've been envious for a long time ! Couldn't wait for 07, had immediate biz needs, so I've just bought an 03 LE V6 Catalina blue. My local mech recommended against a V6 (his wife has the 4 cyl but never hauls people, kids or kid's goods). The car was different, and clean with 28k. I knew the owners and bought straight. I love it .... yet am put off a bit by its occassional uncertainty and what I have to call "bounce". The tires are new Integrity Goodyears which I think were as originally spec'd. Sellers said "we've just replaced them, at the dealer". Maybe it's not the tires though it also seems they "catch" in the road grooves. Maybe its more road feel than I've had for a long, long time and just didn't know what that is like. I'm not sure I'm gonna get easily used to this, and would love any feedback.

Welcome to the Gen 5 Camry club. 28k on an '03 is GREAT. Good buy! I'm not sure what you mean by "occasional uncertainty" and "bounce". My Gen 5 is lowered, so its a little bouncier than it was before I lowered it. Can you explain in more detail?

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Thanks for asking

It just feels iffy. I'll get more info to post; I've only had it since the 23rd. I am suspicious of stock tires (which Integritys are) or inexpensive replacements. I had a set of good-looking but not high end Bridgestones on another car that I threw away after 5k mi. Since then, I've gone for & enjoyed premium rubber, and have bought either Goodyear or Michelin. Though we have snow, I've gone for what is nearly non-M&S tires. These Integritys look to me to have a narrow footprint but are 205 x 65. The car has 5 spoke alloys, which look good and sturdy. Maybe they need balance, and the wheels alignment ???
