Experienced with Toyota Echo Water Pump Replacement and Blower Relay

Hello Everyone,

I am on my second Toyota. The first one was a Toyota pickup that I bought new with 30 miles on it and drove it between 1990 and 2005. I gave it to a teenager with 270,000 miles on it and to the best of my knowledge the kid is still driving it. I am experienced with replacing the starter contact parts on the truck.

My second Toyota brought me here. The Toyota Echo is my second toyota and I recently had to replace the water pump. I drive the heck out of this vehicle at speeds above 80 MPH. Now I am ordering a relay for the blower motor because I only have one speed - that is High speed.

Does anyone know if that relay runs the cooling fan on the radiator too? I recently noticed the cooling fan is not turning on when I am traffic. By the way, the 2000 Toyota Echo has 107,000 miles on it and it still kicks. I'm trying to resist driving it over 80MPH on country highways but it's difficult not to go that speed because it handles so well around the curves.

Thank you,

Nets

80 mph in Echo, nice! Try posting in the Yaris and Echo section, someone should be able to help you out, welcome BTW.

Just updating an old post. We have another 1991 Toyota pickup - this one lasted a year before it started having some spark issues and overheating. I am replacing the timing chain and spark plugs and wires in that one and keeping my fingers crossed that the head and block will last for us. As far as the , Echo, I have 236,000 miles on it and doing a thermostat and fluid replacement on it today. It was overheating but after replacing the thermostat and coolant the blue light is stuck on. Stay tuned in the Echo forum for progress...

After 6 years I want to recommend increasing the timeout for 'no activity'. I had to login 3 times in order to only post a few items today. I think I'll go back to Yotatech today and see what those guys are doing.
