no headlights

never posted before

i've got a 1985 van and having a problem with the headlights maybe someone can help me out

they both just went out
the fuses are fine
checked the headlight relay on another van like it and it works fine
and you can here it cllcking when you attemt to turn them on

jiggled the area where fuses and relays are and got the lights to come on once
but not again

any ideas on how to track down a possible short

wondering if this might be a common problem with a good solution
